Alright, so today was a bad morning. Waking up was brutal, but I had to go to calculus to get my quiz…other than that I didn’t really wake up. I went without my glasses and just sat there playing on my iPod. I went home, tried to nap but couldn’t so I went on my computer. I found an awesome graduation speech that I loled at so I recommend it.

Hm, after doing nothing all morning George and I got lunch, then watched some Family Feud. After TV we headed to the bus stop. It took us almost 45 minutes to get to the mall but we finally found it. After walking around we asked for directions from 3 people just to find the post office. I picked up my shirts and we commented on the fact that Sherwood Forest Mall (like Robin Hood) is for old people. There was no real style stores or anything useful. We went to Rogers and got a huge list of movies to watch as well as bought some candy. I went to TD and deposited some cash money in the bank then we waited for the bus. It took us almost an hour to get back, then we walked to the UCC to go to the washroom…where I got beat up by a faucet; smoking my forehead/eye on it and George bought a greyhound ticket. I returned my library books, unopened and unused then we headed home.

Right now I just finished my Computer Science assigment, learning some SQL. I came up with my idea for the Ontario Summer Business and I decided I will open a Static Business bank account in the near future.

Went to go help megan with comp. sci. Ate food, Asif (roommate 3 returned) and I chilled. I was bored at the other res so I got creative on my laptop on paint….but not really.

Today was a sucky weather day. It started off cold, about 1 degree, then it started raining. After a while it started snowing, then back to raining. Overall it wasn’t a great day to be outside.

Hm, classes today were quite boring, nothing exciting and lunch was normal. When I got home I continued some surveys for more moolah, then I started looking at shoes online. There have been a pair of shoes I have been looking for for over 4 months now with no success but today I finally found them available! At first only available in Europe, then not in my size, then in Japan and again not my size. Finally I have found a store with these shoes for sale.

Jumping at the thought of these sweet shoes I realized I have almost no money…so I decided that once I receive my OSAP money I will buy them. Talk about efficient government funding…

Anyway, my new shirts finally arrived…but they were shipped to a Canada Post outlet located in London so I have to mission to get them tomorrow. On top of that, I was charged an additional 21$ for customs which I think is outrageous…since I paid 150$ for 4 t-shirts. Man, I am a scam magnet. In the end I hope its all worth it haha.

After the disappointing mail experience, George and I got some food then watched Pokemon on TV. After that I headed to my room to make yet another design and work on my business plan. Here is the new design.

Hm, I still have a bunch of homework to do tonight. I also decided to make my blog the main page of the Static Wear website so I will be making a post about designs where I will keep all the designs and update it when new ones arrive. Just find the link at the side to see them all.

Practice was pretty deathly, I felt like I was going to soil myself it was so hard. ANYWAY, after dinner with George we walked back to the pool cause I locked my key to my room in my locker. We walked back here and I finished my essay!! Wooott. It a piece of garbage, but its done nonetheless.

I’ve decided that with my OSAP money I will buy a bunch of the new design Static Shirts so I at least have products to show for. We did some more filming for my vlog which will be posted when I get my USB cable.

So I woke up this morning around 11:20 by a text from Dad. Free Lunch!? I jumped at the opportunity. I busted out the gameboy and played before Dad got there. He arrived and I got changed, then we headed out to get some food. After some pasta, we stopped by TD where I tried to deposit money only to find out I couldn’t. I wondered what was wrong. Anyway, he dropped me back off at home and I got a call saying Laura was on her way. My shirts were finally here! After Laura left I visited Sean then ate some BBQ Pork buns with George…prime. Taryn came back from home and picked her shirt up and we all just talked. I figured out the issue with my card and got everything fixed.

After the swim meet, before going home my Dad swung by the residence to pick-up two shirts to bring back to Oakville as well as drive George and myself to the Golden Palace known as McDonalds. He left for home while we enjoyed the delicious food, which neither of us finished as it was only 4:30 and we weren’t too hungry. When we got back I went to bed for a nap until 7:00 when I woke up. I still haven’t worked on my essay today, but I plan to now.

Before I get to work, I will suggest a good song for the day (which I plan to start doing now as something different.) This song, Prodigal by OneRepublic is pretty awesome. Most people only know them for Apologize and Stop & Stare but this song is by far better than either.

After ordering that I decided that I should make a business plan and apply for some small business grants. Although I never really started the plan, I came up with the idea which is good enough. My roommates and I played some StarCraft after getting food then I started my Vlog lol, which I will post when I get my USB cable. It will be like my blog, but its just random videos of us doing stuff.

Hello people. My name is Steven Ritchie, if you are here you probably know me but I will introduce myself anyway. This is my blog about everything about my life here at university. For those who don’t know, I attend the University of Western Ontario in London, Ont.

A little bit about me, I like to read, sleep, eat, swim and do nothing. The last being my favourite, I have too much free time here at university since I don’t do homework and it all ends up being wasted. That is one of the reasons I am starting this blog, to fill some time with something productive >.<.

I swim on the varsity swim team here at UWO. Honestly, I am essentially the worst male swimmer on the team, but I am okay with that because I am trying to get better, heh. Anyway, the team itself does really well at meets, myself exempt. I swim for fun, to keep fit and simply to pass the time.

School…what a waste of time. I am in the BMOS program which many people mistake for a business degree. All it is, it “Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies”, essentially a dumbass useless degree. There are busines courses and aspects, but is nothing like a commerce degree elsewhere. Why am I here? Now, I’m not stupid, but I want to go to Ivey School of Business in third year. If I don’t get in I just wasted 2 years of my life and lots of my/parents money. I go to class usually, unless I’m sleeping but I don’t really ever pay attention. I study for my exams…for a couple hours the day before but seem to do decent for university marks. I would personally like better marks, but I will take what I can get with little effort.

University life is good so far, I like living in residence. I live in suite style, with 3 other guys and we share 2 bathrooms, a common room and a kitchen. Three of us are in Social Science with one in the Arts. Other than my neighbouring roommate, Asif, we all do nothing. Most of the time we are all just hanging around the room, running around the building and whatnot. My other two roommates are George and Peter. I will write about them in my daily life so you may get to know them.

Static Wear? Well I started static wear with initally with the intention of running a radio station, static radio, with a friend Alex Harris. The shirts were simply to raise the capital we needed. I started by making the shirts myself (silk-screening) but they turned out pretty trashy. I met Adam S, owner of Champion Print Studio and Friendly Skateboards who lived in the same town as me. He is now my main provider of the printed shirts. Anyway, after the flop with the first batch of shirts, I tried to simply make a clothing line. At first the designs were simple, and the logo creative I thought. I sold a couple…enough to break even. I then made Static Sudan shirts in Grade 11, which were for a charity concert held at my school. They expected a great turnout so I ordered 100 t-shirts. This ran up a HUGE tab seeing as I only sold 30ish T_T. Most of the “profits” were donated to charity, leaving me a few hundred dollars in the hole. This was a major set-back so I forgot about static for a while. Two years later, in the summer I thought about starting it up again. With the help of a few friends I got my Block Style design and got feedback on it. It took a while to get everything in order again and in October 2008, I finally ordered some new shirts. I had already seen great interest in these shirts. I am currently selling them at school, and back at home with the help of my sister, Julia. My friends attending other universities are my contacts for sales at these institutions.

I enjoy working on new designs and receive inspiration from simply clothing I see everyday. I browse the internet for ideas, look at photoshop work to see what would look good on clothing.

It is my hope to make this business semi-serious and try to get the shirts into a local shop or two, which I will attempt after the Christmas break.

A little more about me…I am also part of what you could call an International Film venture. I had a keen interest in 3D animation so I frequented a few forums and ending up meeting a friend Simen. He is from Norway and roughly the same age. After a year we had a team of 6, three from Norway, two in Australia and one in Canada, me . Anyway, we are currently working on a short animated film and although I greatly lack creative skills, I contribute basic models that I work on in my ample free time. I also have an interest in business and read books about finance, investing and gettin rich in essence. Well, in early November I attended a Rich Dad seminar where I met two new contacts, Walter and Mike. Both are established in life, older than I and more experienced. We all signed up for the upcoming 3-day training in December and plan to meet up again to discuss potential partnerships or co-operation in anything we may choose.

Overall I have a lot going on in my life, yet I still find lots of time to play video games, surf the net (StumbleUpon), listen to music and chat on MSN. I hope that was a thorough introduction of me, enjoy

This morning my mom & brother came to visit as they are in town for a swim meet. They brought me my camera, some bleach and food. Hm, I didn’t end up doing anything productive so far today. Although, I did design the tags for the new Static shirts.

Alright, so after food George and I decided to play a music game. We both have somewhat large amounts of music and decided to shuffle our librarys, and have to guess who the artist is (without looking of course) and the clear winner was noneother than myself . After that we didn’t end up doing much, we went to eat dinner and then almost died jay-walking. Then i decided to download “College: The Movie” which was jokes and i recommend to anyone considering a frat party…ever .

That night I went out with Nick and one of his soccer buddies, who is in my business class, Andrew. They played beer pong then we went back to their res to chill. We got food their then didn’t really ending up doing much. So I left and started walking and two random chicks in a cab asked me if I was going to my res, and I said yes, and I got in their car and got a free lift home…wicked. Turns out they were from the same place haha.

After I got home I just went to bed. OH! How could I forget? I started my essay yesterday….630/1300 words so far!! Basically half-done cause I still don’t have my sources which means I will buy my shoes!!

Anyway, that was my Saturday.

So today was snowstorm part 2. WICKED. I went to business and economics tutorial only to get my business exam back. Now, I did not study or do a single case, but my mark was unacceptable. I got dummied and it was quite embarassing. Anyway, I walked back in the snowstorm, freezing and I heard an acceptable song on my iPod.

Well, I got back to my room, talked to Mom who is here in London and not much else. I got some food, watched some TV. Then, I discovered there was a release of Boys Like Girls? Its an EP of 6 songs, but nonetheless something new. I downloaded that from torrents…link is here.

I checked the mail for my shirts I ordered…but still nothing. How disappointing! I talked to Joe last night and got inspired to try some hand-drawn work? I’m absolutely horrible at art, so I tried a simple design. I traced it in Illustrator and at first tried to make it all perfect, proportionally, then decided the hand-drawn irregularities would make it better. Here is my first run through, it would be placed on the back of a shirt on the lower right.

Anyway, I’m not sure what else I plan to do today, but there is a bubbletea thing in our caf so I will def. go to that. I’ve decided that when I go back home I’m going to grab my tablet in case I DO decide to continue the hand drawn stuff. I also worked on my computer science assignement, THRILING! Oh, and speaking of Boys Like Girls, they released a new live DVD on November 4th which looks sick. I’m going to try to pick that up ASAP.

Oh, and George never went home so my weekend will be less boring. I’ve also decided that if I finish at least half my essay this weekend, I will reward myself by buying these ill shoes, from YAHOOxPONY.

So, last night I really couldn’t sleep at ALL. So around 2 a.m I played some Pokemon Blue…woot! That was fun, then after like 30 minutes I got up and went on my latop. Hm, I made a journal of entries, [accounting] for Static as well as an Inventory spreadsheet. It was quite exciting.

Hm, I finally went to bed around 3:45 am…only to wake up at 7:45. Yesterday I slept through all 4 hours of class so I figured I had to go today. I went to the caf…got some coffee then went to my room to change. I looked outside and all I could think was….SWEARWORD!. It was snowing pretty hard and there was already a good 1-2 inches on the ground. I got changed, grabbed some french toast from the caf then waited for the bus. I went to calculus where I got yet another failed quiz back…6/20. FTW! I started my anatomical drawing of a man…its pretty sucky. I’m balls at art. I just chilled with Matt then had Sociology there right after. Talk about double dose of boring. I sat there…played Tetris on my iPod and listened to music. My drawing was improved slightly but is still lacking. I walked back and did laundry! Woot! Second time since being here….nasty I know. I started this blog, got some lunch then went on my laptop, like always.

George still isn’t awake but he leaves for Windsor, home, today. It will be boring here without my buddy…but I’m sure I can manage, just me and my Wartortle.

So technically it is Friday now, but I will update what happened for the rest of the day. I…did nothing on my laptop and finished my laundry. I had swim practice 4:00-6:30 where we did weights and swimming. That wasn’t too hard. I walked back to res where I grabbed some food to take to my room. I started eating when Nick and two of his friends came over. He picked up a blue static shirt and they had a chin-up competition. They tanked it, much better than I could do. After they left I resumed doing nothing for most of the night. I worked on the purple design more and talked on MSN. I got help from my friend Charles regarding minor design issues, but the design seems pretty final now.

I ate the rest of my dinner, watched some television. I just finished watching Made of Honor which was pretty good…although a chick movie. That’s about it for my night….boring I know. I still have an essay to write due the 26th which I haven’t started yet…I can’t even find sources. Anyway…bye.
