Updates AGAIN
So let’s see…it’s been literally ages since I’ve posted. Everytime I post I make up excuses for not updating the site.
Basically I haven’t been motivated enough to update my blogs haha. I have so much free time I don’t even know what to do with it. So let’s see, what’s new with me?
I came home Monday for the week just to…check-in at home and search for some employment. I have found a few places I’m interested in and am dropping off my applications/resumés tomorrow.
I’ve also started working on my business plan for my new silk-screening business. I want to try to finish that this weekend when I’m back at school so I won’t have to worry about it later. I did some research and stuff so I’m pretty prepared.
As for other summer plans? Surprisingly I want to volunteer at a retirement home this summer. I know I can get a job and work…but volunteering will look good on my resumé and I also really want to work in a retirement home. Don’t ask me why, but in a few years it may all make sense.
I have studied a bit at home, not really so I spend the majority of my time browsing the web and watching movies. I have recently gone on an independent film binge and have enjoyed all of them. I’ll try to post another review or two tomorrow, but I actually plan on studying.
Overall things have been good and I’ve been doing more work on Statics Fall Winter 09/10 release. It will sweet deals. I’m stoked for Friday when I go back cause I kinda want to see this art thing happenin’ at Echelon. They are having a mural painted and hosting an event to watch it live and getting painted.
Not much else to say, just checking in.

Movie Review: The Wackness
Over the course of last night and today I watched the independent film ‘The Wackness’.
This movie is set in 1994 and stars Josh Peck from ‘Drake and Josh’ and Ben Kingsley from ‘Lucky Number Slevin’ . If anyone has ever watched the show ‘Drake and Josh’, you will understand how much of a role change this is. This also goes for ‘College: The Movie’ starring Drake Bell in which he plays a completely alter personality from his usual self.
Back to ‘The Wackness’, Peck plays Luke Shapiro, a drug dealer who just recently graduated from high school. This whole movie takes place over the summer where Shapiro and his shrink, Kingsley bond. I really enjoyed this movie as it was quite humorous and touched on lots of conflict in teenage life. Luke plays a social outcast at school that is only know for his drug hook-ups. He falls for his shrink’s step-daughter Stephanie who is in the ‘cool crowd’ at school. Now that school is out and most of the graduating class is out travelling for their final summer, Stephanie is lonely and begins to hangout with Luke.
The conflicts covered in this film are run-ins with the cop, bankruptcy, heartbreak and drug abuse. The pressures of teenage life are quite clear and Luke, although troubled in many ways, tries to look out for his family by raising money with his drug dealing. He really bonds with Dr. Squires and teaches him all about what is ‘hip’ in the current days. They share music, with Shapiro’s taste including Notorious BIG and other rap artists of the 90′s and Squires enjoying more classical music. With a variety of mix tapes and weed sessions, they become good friends and talk about their problems.
Through all of the problems, drugs, alcohol and ‘romance’, this movie is riddled with humor and awkard situations. Luke falls in love and has a hard time sharing this notion. Once he does, he loses all contact with ‘his girl’ and experiences heartbreak for the first time. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys more chill movies.
For an independant film I think it was outstanding and definitely worthy of an honorable mention.
8.5/10

Busy
So I’ve been pretty busy lately. I’ve had my final computer assignment to work on, and with classes coming to an end it is time to slack!
Lately George and I have been playing lots of Halo: Combat Evolved on our new roommates 360. He helps out occasionally cause we are nub but we are two levels away from beating the game. Its only been like two days haha. Its lots of fun and we also play H3 online alot too.
I’m headin’ home on Wednesday for a few days to drop some things off at home, hopefully get a haircut and apply for some jobs. Oh, and the obvious studying of course.
Static wise, I have been working on the fall/winter drop. This is really far away but since I don’t really have any money til late summer, I can’t do a summer line and this time around I wish to drop the full line at once AND do it somewhat professionally, aiming for some boutiques.
Not much new, I haven’t touched the style blog lately so I’ll be trying to work on that this week too.
