Bon Iver Obsession

without comments

Since Friday I have had an obsession with Bon Iver. Here’s my favourite track to a random video.

I couldn’t embed it so I’ll embed a live version.

Bigger Than My Body

with one comment

Today was a day where I had not a care in the world. I took my time doing my errands, spent an hour reading outside; enjoying the nice weather with a cup of coffee. It was essentially a perfect day. I took a step back and thought about my life. I realized I need more days like this in my life.

This past week was the first time in my whole life actually cracking down and focusing on my education. I spent way too many hours in the library studying for an exam that seemed too easy. I know that not paying attention to a course and just letting shit pile up is a bad M.O but frankly its how I live my life. It also provided me with the experience of a real university education.

I decided that I don’t want to have that ever again. I hate it. I hate having school consume my life. It is too much stress and too much pressure from everyone. My life is bigger than school, especially when I’m studying something for the sake of an education. I need to start spending more time with my own personal hobbies and focusing on things I enjoy rather than living for the sake of what society thinks is required, a post-secondary education.

This being said, it doesn’t mean I’m going to change and start doing work as it comes to me, but rather set my priorities straight. I’m not dropping out or anything, I just plan to pursue my own things more effectively with my abundance of free time. I need more peaceful, relaxing days like today to enjoy my youth.

Smashing Pumpkins

with one comment

At Western the engineers organize a pumpkin drop of a giant pumpkin to raise money. This year they raised money for “Engineering Without Borders” and dropped two pumpkins weighing roughly 750-lbs each. Impressive. Getting pictures was tough.

The trees on campus are beauts this time of year.

Apart from that my exam this morning took me 20 minutes to write. I REALLY hope my week of studying paid off.

I AM SO EXCITED. AHHHH!

Technology Shutdown

without comments

Starting tonight when I go to bed I am shutting down my laptop and turning off my cellphone for the week. Not only is this a test of life without technology but also I need to crackdown and actually get stuff done, aka study, for my exam this coming saturday. All will be restored following my exam at 9am.

Goodbye world. See you at the end of the week.

Library

without comments

I’m sitting in our library coffee shop, over tired and dressed to impress. I decided that the classics bore me and I will start reading more contemporary novels.

My current text of choice is ‘Norwegian Wood’ by Haruki Murakami. So far so good.
