Sympathy For The Unusual

without comments

Late last year I stumbled upon a picture from the Sympathy For The Unusual Fall/Winter 2009 lookbook. I was instantly in love with it, mostly the guy’s hair.

After scanning through the whole lookbook, I fell in love with the whole atmosphere of the shoot, the clothes, the models and even Italy itself. I HAD to have a piece for myself. Sympathy For The Unusual is an italian based clothing line specializing in limited pieces and collaborations. Each piece’s artwork is done up by a different artist from around the world. Not only are the articles of clothing donning quality design work, but are of great quality themselves.

Within each collection (they’ve had two so far) they add a little something special to each piece. In the summer set, they had a hidden design in each sleeve, revealed when rolled up. In the new collection, the sweaters possess plaid patterns under the arms, as well as the much sought after thumb holes in the sleeves.

Wednesday before reading week, I stepped out of the elevator only to be greeted by the mail man awaiting me with my brand new sweater! After a relatively speedy delivery from Italy I was excited to see what was in store!

For a company only in their second season, they made sure to pay attention to the details! Incredible quality all around.

The print on my sweater, which I expected to be simply screen-printed, was extruding felt. It was super cool and feels awesome to the touch.

lols.

Check out the look book for yourself and fall in love.
